However, excessive green tea consumption (>10 cups/day) can cause caffeine-related toxicity including insomnia, heart palpitations, nausea, and liver stress from concentrated EGCG. Extremely high isolated L-theanine doses (>1200mg) may cause excessive drowsiness and low blood pressure.
