Generally very safe. High doses may worsen asthma, increase bleeding risk, and cause nausea, diarrhea, and headaches. Glucosamine from shellfish can cause allergic reactions. May affect blood sugar control in diabetics. Chondroitin may enhance effects of blood thinners. Long-term safety is well-established at standard doses.
