Excessive intake (>12g/day) may cause excessive sedation, drowsiness, and confusion. Very high doses can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. May cause severe stomach upset and vomiting at excessive doses. Chronic overconsumption may interfere with thyroid function, particularly in those already taking thyroid medications.
