Paradoxically, heartburn is often caused by too little stomach acid, not too much. Apple cider vinegar with 'the mother' provides acetic acid that can help restore proper stomach acid levels and improve digestion. By supporting adequate acid production, ACV helps the lower esophageal sphincter close properly, preventing acid from splashing up into the esophagus.
Dilute 1-2 tablespoons raw, unfiltered ACV in 8oz warm water. Drink 15-20 minutes before meals. Add raw honey if taste is too strong. Start with 1 tsp and gradually increase. Never drink undiluted.
Always dilute — undiluted ACV damages tooth enamel and esophagus. Avoid with stomach ulcers. May worsen symptoms in some people — discontinue if heartburn increases. Use a straw to protect teeth.
