Doses exceeding 7g/day may cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. May cause bronchospasm in asthmatics. Can interact with nitroglycerin. Chronic high-dose use may deplete zinc and copper. At standard protective doses (600-1200mg), NAC is very well-tolerated.
