Niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that regulates sebum production, reduces pore size, and calms inflammation. At 4-5% concentration, it significantly reduces acne severity. It also inhibits melanin transfer, fading dark spots and post-acne marks over 8-12 weeks.
Apply a 5% niacinamide serum to clean skin morning and night before moisturizer. Can be layered with most other actives (hyaluronic acid, retinol). Avoid combining with pure vitamin C at the same time.
Generally very well tolerated. Rarely causes mild flushing at high concentrations (10%+). Start with 5% and increase gradually.
