Leaf powder is safe, but moringa root and bark contain spirochin, which is toxic and can cause paralysis and potentially be fatal. Very high leaf doses (>70g/day) may cause diarrhea and stomach upset. Moringa may lower blood sugar and blood pressure excessively when combined with medications. May have antifertility effects at very high doses.
