Boil fresh giloy stem (1 inch) in water for 15 min. Strain, drink daily. Also available as tablets and juice.

Excessive consumption of Giloy (>5g/day for prolonged periods) has been linked to cases of liver toxicity (drug-induced liver injury, or DILI) documented in Indian medical literature. Very high doses may cause dangerously low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and may worsen autoimmune conditions by overstimulating the immune system. Constipation may occur at high doses.
